Mumbai, With the help of MS Dhoni's stormy innings of 20 runs in 4 balls and tremendous half-centuries from Shivam Dub and Ruturaj Gaikwad, Chennai Super Kings made a strong score of 206 runs for four wickets against Mumbai Indians in the IPL match here on Sunday.

Dubey (66 not out, 10x4, 2x6) and Gaikwad (69), who scored 90 off just 4 balls for the third wicket, paced Chennai's innings in the early and middle stages of the game, before Dhoni thrashed a packed Wankhede Mesmerized. Vintage shot-making.

The former CSK skipper hit three consecutive sixes on MI skipper Hardy Pandya (2/43), helping his team score 26 runs in the final over.

Dhoni's brilliant innings - which included balls flying past long-off, wide long-O and deep square leg - took Chennai past the 200-run mark, which had looked difficult till that final over.On a quiet wicket, CSK batsmen posted a big score by collecting 7 runs between 11-15 overs, with Gaikwad and Dubey performing brilliantly.

Gaikwad's burst in the latter half of the powerplay helped CSK reach 48/1 as the CSK skipper made his intentions clear.

Although he could not go beyond his 69, which came off 40 balls with the help of five sixes and as many fours, Gaikwad looked in great form.The CSK skipper effortlessly hit through the line to clear the ropes and when the MK bowlers challenged him by bowling into his body, Gaikwa improved in finding his runs without taking any unwanted risks.

Gaikwad's innings ended when his counterpart Pandya bamboozled him with a slower ball, which he lofted into the air past Nabi at long on.

Dubey went after Pandya in the 10th over and took full advantage of the bowler's aggressive line and length and scored 15 runs including three fours.

However, Dube liked the pace of Romario Shepherd.

After hitting a few fours in West Indies' opening exchanges to collect 12 runs in the 11th over, Dubey added 22 runs by hitting two sixes and as many fours in Shepherd's second over.Mumbai Indians kept Jasprit Bumrah (0/27) in check in the death overs, with Gaikwad and Dubey ensuring that pressure was put on the other bowlers.
