Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Singer-composer Raghu Dixit has collaborated with Grammy Award-winning banjo player Bela Fleck for the latest track 'Shakkarpari' from his album 'Shakkar'.

The album will be launched with a concert in London on 6 July. He opened up about collaborating with the acclaimed musician and said that he feels "blessed" to be working with a legend.

Raghu shared, "I am very happy and feel blessed that a legend like Bela Fleck has come to perform on my track 'Shakkarpari'."

Fleck is an ambassador for the banjo instrument and has received approximately 17 Grammy Awards.He has also been nominated 39 times.

He is known for his distinctive style and has worked with some renowned musicians including jazz pianist and composer Chick Corea and acclaimed tabla player Zakir Hussain.

Dixit said that he had been planning to work with her for a long time and finally it happened. "We had been thinking of working together for a long time, but I feel there is a time for everything and the opportunity to star in 'Shakkarpari' couldn't have come at a better time."

Talking about the single 'Shakkarpari' she said, "'Shakkarpari' is the story of a girl who steals sugar from the market and distributes it to people who have never tasted sweetness. In this story, sugar is a symbol of happiness. Symbol, and its function of sharing one's happiness enhances it.The story underlines the importance of kindness, compassion and empathy towards those facing difficulties."

He talked about the inspiration behind his latest track and said that it is a reflection of his struggles and challenges in life.

"The inspiration for the song 'Shakarpari' came from my therapy sessions. As I began to overcome my struggles and darkness, my therapist made me commit to connecting with those less fortunate and doing at least one good deed a day for a stranger. This practice gradually helped me overcome my challenges, made me smile more and feel constantly happy, similarly, many strangers came into my life and supported me through difficult times, '' he shared while talking about the inspiration behind his latest single.Dixit is all set to launch the album on July 6 in London. “This is the first concert of our summer, UK-Ireland-Europe tour of 2024. We are playing a total of 12 concerts including the prestigious Cambridge folk festival, Frome Festival.” " Raghu Dixit concluded.
