Jaipur, Days after the notice was issued on auction of agricultural land in Hanumangarh, senior BJP leader Rajendra Rathore on Monday said the interests of farmers will be protected and a policy decision on the matter will be taken soon at the chief minister's level.

Talking to reporters here on Monday, Rathore said that there will be no auction of farmers' land in the state.

The former opposition leader said the government has issued an administrative order to suspend the bank order.

Hanumangarh Cooperative Land Development Bank Limited had on Friday issued a public notice of auction of agricultural land of 20 farmers in various tehsils of Hanumangarh, which was published in newspapers the next day.

"Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma's government in Rajasthan is committed to protecting the interests of farmers. The government has also issued orders that farmers' land will not be auctioned," Rathod said at a press conference here.,

The Bharatiya Janata Party leader said that every effort will be made to resolve the matter by forming a committee and getting it investigated.

Rathore said that auction notice was issued by Land Development Bank Hanumangarh for non-payment of loan by 20 farmers.

He said, "As soon as this matter came to the notice of Chief Minister Sharma, an administrative order was issued to suspend the bank order."

Rathod said that during the Congress government, farmers' lands were auctioned, but now there is a double engine BJP government in the state and I am committed to fulfill all the resolutions of my manifesto. The BJP government has completed 45 percent of the resolutions. Just six months,” he claimed. Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday attacked Rajasthan's BJP government over the notice and said that the BJP had promised in its election manifesto in Rajasthan to ensure that auction of farmers' land is stopped.Hitting back, Rathod said that Gehlot is frustrated with Congress's defeat in the assembly elections and the unprecedented support Prime Minister Narendra Modi is getting in the Lok Sabha elections, hence he is making such statements.
