Addressing media persons, Parameshwara said that all the accused have been arrested within a month since the case came to light, evidence is being collected and the police will file a charge sheet against them.

"We cannot rush things forward. There is a due process for this. Adequate evidence will be collected and a charge sheet will be filed. There is no need to shield or protect anyone in this case," he stressed.

The heinous murder of Renukaswami took place on June 8 in Bengaluru. He was kidnapped from his hometown Chitradurga, brought to Bengaluru, kept in a shed and tortured to death. After the murder his body was thrown into the gutter.

The incident came to light when security personnel of a private apartment saw the body being dragged by a pack of dogs. Renukaswamy is survived by his aged parents, a pregnant wife and a sister.

When the police started investigation, four accused surrendered before the police, claiming responsibility for the murder over a financial matter. When Kamakshipalya police interrogated him, the involvement of actor Darshan, his 'partner' Pavitra Gowda and others came to light.

It was revealed that the accused had brutally murdered Renukaswamy for sending obscene messages to Pavitra Gowda. Actor Darshan and 15 others were sent to judicial custody till July 18.
