Speaking to reporters outside the jail, Vinod said, "I met Darshan today. He was very calm when I greeted him. He spoke only for a second, and addressed me as 'Tiger', while I called him 'Boss' and did not say anything else. I shook hands with him and came out.

"I met him (Darshan) under unusual circumstances. I couldn't understand anything and didn't know what to say. I was made to sit in a separate room. May Lord Renukaswami (the victim) rest in peace. His wife is pregnant. And I pray to God to give strength to his family. This should not have happened on his birthday four months ago.

"Some people are saying that I am not coming forward to support Darshan. I even went to meet him at Annapurneshwari Nagar police station, but I could not meet him there. Let's see, will the problem be solved? Social media post "Could have happened from." Vinod said, "I might have made a lakh posts, but this is a serious issue, no one is above the law and everyone should get justice."

Meanwhile, Darshan's wife Vijayalakshmi also came to the jail with their son, but left soon after seeing the waiting media persons.

Darshan, his 'accomplice' Pavitra Gowda and 15 others have been arrested for the murder of Renukaswamy (33), a resident of Chitradurga.

Investigation revealed that Renukaswamy, a big fan of Darshan, had sent derogatory messages to Pavitra Gowda on social media. The victim was allegedly kidnapped, brought to Bengaluru, kept in a shed and tortured to death.

Darshan is currently in judicial custody till July 4.
