A fire broke out at a sanitary napkin factory in Bhiwandi area of ​​Thane district early Tuesday, but no casualties were reported, a civic official said.

Bhiwandi-Nizampur Municipal Corporation Disaster Management Cell officer Raju Warlikar said that the fire broke out at around 3 am in the factory located in Saravali industrial area.

He said that BNMC fire teams along with Thane and Kalyan-Dombivli teams reached the spot and the fire was brought under control by 8.30 am.

He said that there was no news of anyone being injured, but the raw material kept in the factory was burnt to ashes. He told that the cooling operation is going on.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
