The collaboration focuses on developing Flexible Data Placement (FDP) technology, which aims to optimize the performance, reliability and lifetime of SSDs.

The demand for FDP is increasing, with major global technology companies like Meta and Google supporting this technology.

Founded in 2015, FADU specializes in chip design for data centers and is known for its high-performance SSD controllers.

"FDP technology allows us to optimize the placement of data on SSD storage, which is a significant achievement in storage technology," said Lee Ji-hyo, CEO of FADU.

Ji-Hyo said, “Through our partnership with Western Digital, we will apply the most advanced FDP technology to deliver storage solutions that will not only dramatically improve performance but also significantly extend the lifespan of SSDs. "
