External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi held talks in Astana on Thursday amid the dragging border dispute in eastern Ladakh.

The two foreign ministers met on the sidelines of the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

It is understood that the focus of the conversation was on the border dispute.

India has been saying that peace in the border areas is a prerequisite for normal relations between the two countries.
