The Police Commissionerate has prepared a detailed security plan for the swearing-in ceremony of the new Chief Minister and his Council of Ministers at Janata Maidan.

Speaking at a press conference here, Police Commissioner Sanjib Panda said all preparations for the swearing-in ceremony are in the final stages, adding that the police have prepared a blueprint for security arrangements at the venue, Biju Patnaik International Airport. Raj Bhavan etc.

“Security personnel will be deployed in high-rise buildings around the venue. We are also checking vehicles in the city every night. Checking of city hotels is also going on.

"We are making all security arrangements as per the blueprint to avoid any eventuality. We will also issue a guideline regarding traffic and parking arrangements as a large number of people are expected to attend the function," Panda said. "

He said police are prepared with security arrangements for dignitaries, including Union ministers and chief ministers of other states, who are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony.

The BJP on Sunday appointed Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Bhupendra Yadav as observers to select the new chief minister during the MLAs meeting to be held on June 11.
