Srinagar: PDP President Mehbooba Mufti on Monday asked the voters of Jammu and Kashmir to register their unhappiness over the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution through their votes in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing a roadside meeting in Larkipora area of ​​Anantnag district, the former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister said, "This is not an assembly election. The Bharatiya Janata Party-led Center in August 2019 abrogated the provisions of Article 370 that gave special powers to Jammu and Kashmir and divided the erstwhile state into union territories.

Mufti said that Jammu and Kashmir has gone through very difficult times in the past and the present situation is also difficult.

He said, "The people of Jammu and Kashmir have seen difficult times in the past. They will neither last nor this (situation) will last, but only if we fight it together through peaceful and democratic means."

Mufti said people may be angry with the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for some time, but they realize that the party has saved them from the TAS force, the insurgent anti-Ikhwan group and POTA.
