Shivamogga (Karnataka): Expelled BJP leader KS Eshwarappa on Monday said he has been invited by the saffron party to rejoin it.

However, he said he was in no hurry to join the party and would discuss it before taking any decision.

"Some BJP leaders approached me and asked me to rejoin the party. I have not decided yet. I am in no hurry," Eshwarappa told reporters here.

Eshwarappa had rebelled against the party and contested the Lok Sabha elections, ignoring the instructions of the party high command. He was defeated by BY Raghavendra, the elder son of former chief minister BS Yediyurappa.

The expelled leader, who held several key positions including deputy chief minister, leader of opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council and state BJP president, was upset when the party denied his son K E Kantesh a ticket in the recent Lok Sabha elections. Haveri Lok Sabha seat.
