The judge said that prima facie, Kavita appears to be the key conspirator of a criminal conspiracy hatched with the objective of collecting and paying advance funds to the Aam Aadmi Party through co-accused for obtaining favorable provisions in Delhi Excise. Policy 2021-22.

The court said, “His role in the demand of advance money and alleged payment of favorable provisions in the excise policy has also been highlighted during the arguments.,

The CBI submitted that though Kavita is not named in the FIR, her role in the case came to light from the statements of witnesses and approvers, WhatsApp chats and documents recovered during the investigation related to money transactions. Under the guise of land deal.

Opposing the bail plea, the CBI argued, "The said documents/materials reveal the role of the accused/applicant as one of the key conspirators in the case."

Kavita had cited high blood pressure as the reason for bail, stressing the need for medical care after her arrest by the ED.

To this, the judge said that the documents relied upon were found to be old medical records, i.e. from the year 2013 onwards, and their complaints have been clearly addressed.

The judge said, “Furthermore, the other ailments with which the accused/applicant (Kavitha) is presently affected, as claimed, are not so grave or serious that he be directed to be released on regular or interim bail.,

It was submitted before the court that proper medical aid was being provided to him by the prison dispensary.

The CBI also objected to the bail plea of ​​the accused and said that being a prominent politician and influential person, Kavita could influence witnesses and tamper with evidence if released on bail, and hinder the ongoing investigation. Can.

Kavita was arrested first by the ED and later by the CBI on April 11, when she was in Tihar jail.

Judge Baweja had remanded him to CBI custody, saying "detailed sustained interrogation" of the accused was necessary.

Now, he is in judicial custody in the case being investigated by both the agencies.
