NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said EVMs in India are a "black box" that no one is allowed to check, and said "serious concerns" are being raised over transparency in India's electoral process. .

Gandhi said, "When institutions lack accountability, democracy becomes a sham and prone to fraud." He also tagged a media report which claimed that a relative of the Shiv Sena candidate who won the election from Mumbai's North West by 48 votes was in possession of a phone. Unlocks an EVM.
