According to a report by JMK Research & Analytics, the growth in EV sales was led by two-wheelers and three-wheelers, which contributed 94 percent to total sales.

Sales of EV two-wheelers grew 29 percent year-on-year to 10,09,356 units.

The contribution of this category in total EV sales was 57.60 percent.

Among EV three-wheelers, which include passenger and cargo vehicles, sales grew 56 per cent year-on-year to 6,34,969 units.

According to the report, "Low operating costs, growing logistics demand and last-mile connectivity are the key drivers of growth in this segment."

Electric car segment sales grew by 82 per cent year-on-year, registering sales of 99,085 units in FY2024.

Electric bus sales increased to 3,708 units in FY 2024, an increase of 85 percent year-on-year.
