In the 25th minute, Mert Muldur gave Turkey the lead with a powerful volley from outside the box. A few minutes later the team doubled its advantage but was declared offside.

Georgia scored its first goal at a major tournament and the stadium went wild in the 32nd minute when Georges Mikoutadze scored a historic goal for the country, tying the game before the half-time whistle. There was a lot of buzz surrounding the Real Madrid talent and the 19-year-old didn't let the hype go to waste as he became the youngest player to score a goal on debut in the history of the UEFA European competition.

His spectacular strike came in the 65th minute of the game when he fired a powerful shot which went into the top left corner of the goal and the keeper had no chance to save it.
