Thrissur (Kerala): The engine of the Ernakulam-Tata Nagar Express got separated from the main body of the train on Friday morning when it was passing through Central Kerala district, railway sources said.

According to sources, the engine got separated from the rest of the train along with some coaches.

"The third coach separated. This happened around 9.30 am. The problem was rectified and the train resumed its journey," a railway official said.

He told that at the time of the incident the train was running at a slow speed and no passenger was injured.

"The reason for the separation is not yet known. We will look into it," he said.
