Head coach John Lewis said Macdonald-Gay has been added as cover due to some mix-ups in England's 14-man squad.

“Rayana has been an exceptional bowler in domestic 50-over cricket and had a good 50-over tour of New Zealand with our England A team. We have brought him in at this time because there are some flaws in our team. We are really impressed with his skill level and accuracy. He is an exciting young talent and we look forward to adding him to the team,” Lewis said.

Macdonald-Gay made his debut for Kent in 2019, aged 15. She has also competed in the Women's Hundred for Oval Invincibles. He took six wickets in two 50-over matches and five wickets in two T20 matches on England A's tour of New Zealand in March.

England has to play three ODIs and five T20 matches against New Zealand from June 26.
