Under this initiative, children will be encouraged to impersonate their parents to vote and on the day of voting, they will have to upload a selfie of their family members after voting.

By holding lottery at the district level, cash prizes of Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,500 will be given to the first, second and third winners.

Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Aggarwal said that under this initiative, the school whose students upload the maximum number of selfies will also be awarded a special prize of Rs 25,000.

A link has been developed on https://www.ceoharana.gov.in/ portal for uploading the selfie, which will be available on the polling day i.e. May 25.

Along with voting, the link for uploading selfies for children will be open from 7 am to 8 pm.

Aggarwal said that the aim of this initiative is not only to increase the voting percentage but also to make school children, who will be voters in the future, aware of their franchise. The Chief Electoral Officer said there are more than two crore registered voters in Haryana, which includes 1,06,34,532 men, 94,06,357 women and 46 transgenders.

He said that Gurgaon Lok Sabha constituency has the highest number of voters at 25,66,159, while in Faridabad it is 24,24,281.

19,92,252 in Ambala Lok Sabha seat, 17,92,160 in Kurukshetra, 19,34,614 in Sirsa, 17,88,710 in Hisar, 21,00,439 in Karnal, 17,64,954 in Sonipat, 18,86,796 in Rohtak and 19 in Bhiwani-Mahendragarh. There are ,90,988 voters.
