Employees of 300 fuel pumps in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district will protest wearing black bands and caps for a month from July 15, demanding higher commission on sales, an official of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Petroleum Dealers Association said on Thursday.

PDA Chairman Akil Abbas clarified in a press conference that fuel sales will not be affected during the agitation.

He said, "We have been demanding increase in commission for a long time. The commission of Rs 1.80 per liter on diesel and Rs 3 per liter on petrol has been continuing for seven years. It is difficult to run business at these rates."

"The agitation at 300 fuel pumps in the district will be peaceful. Employees will wear black bands and caps during the protest from July 15 till Independence Day. If our demands are not met in a month, we will proceed with 'no procurement'." Shake it,” he said.

Abbas also said that fuel companies are not telling customers that 20 percent ethanol blended petrol is not compatible with 10-12 year old cars.
