Los Angeles, Actor Elle Fanning is in talks to play the lead role in the upcoming "Predator" movie, titled "Badlands."
Dan Trachtenberg, who directed the franchise's 2022 entry "Prey," a prequel set in the 18th century, will star in the new film from 20th Century Studios, entertainment news outlet The Hollywood Reporter reports.
Trachtenberg wrote the film's screenplay with Patrick Essen, who also worked on "Prey" starring Amber Midthunder.
The "Predator" franchise began in 1987 with the film starring Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers. This was followed by the Danny Glover-starrer "Predator 2", 2010's "The Predator" and 2018's "Predators".
There have also been several crossover films pitting "Predator" against opponents from the "Alien" franchise.
Fanning is known for her roles in films such as 'Maleficent', 'The Neon Demon', '20th Century Women' and 'The Beguiled' as well as the Hulu series 'The Great'.
