New Delhi [India], The Election Commission on Monday ordered re-polling at one polling station each in Barasat and Mathurapur Lok Sabha constituencies in West Bengal, a day before counting of votes.

According to the election body's order, repolling will be conducted at 61 Kadambagachi Sardar Pada FP School of 17 Barasat Parliamentary Constituency, Room No. 2 of 120-Deganga Assembly Constituency and 26 Adir Mahal Sri Chaitanya Vidyapeeth FP School of 131-Kakdwip Assembly Constituency. 20-Mathurapur (SC) parliamentary constituency in West Bengal.

“I am directed to state that on the basis of the report received from the respective ROs/concerned DEOs/Observers of 17-Barasat PC and 20-Mathurapur (SC) PC in respect of the voting conducted for the General Election to the Lok Sabha in West Bengal State, 2024, held on the 1st day of June, 2024 and after taking into account all the material circumstances, the Commission, under sub-section (2) of section 58 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, declares that the The polling for the above election at the following polling stations on June, 2024 (as mentioned in Column 3 of the table below) is treated as void and June 3, 2024 is appointed as the date and as per the table below. The hours are fixed as mentioned in column (4) of, the Election Commission said in a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal, in accordance with the instructions of the Commission contained in paragraph 13.62 of Chapter XIII of the Handbook for Returning Officers, 2023.
