Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari on Friday held a meeting with senior officials to review the preparations being made for the State Foundation Day celebrations at the Parade Ground in Secunderabad.
With the ECI granting permission to the government, the Chief Secretary directs officials to make detailed arrangements in an appropriate manner.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will first visit the Gun Park and pay homage to the martyrs at the Telangana Amarveerula Stupam or Martyrs Memorial. After this he will go to the parade ground for the main function.
As the state is going to complete 10 years of its formation, the state Cabinet in its meeting on May 20 decided to organize the celebrations on a grand scale.In the meeting, it was decided to honor senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi for her important role in the building of the state.
However, confirmation of Sonia Gandhi's participation in the event is still awaited.
In view of the Model Code of Conduct for the Lok Sabha elections, the government has written a letter to the ECI seeking permission to organize the function.
The government is also planning to honor all those who worked for the building of the state.
Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary, during a meeting to review the arrangements for the June 2 celebrations, directed the police department to prepare traffic routes while determining landing/dropping points and parking lots and to provide proper signage at convenient points. Make arrangements accordingly.The police department was also asked to control the movement of dignitaries and designate pick-up points to ensure smooth and timely departure while leaving the venue to avoid unnecessary delays.
The R&B department was also directed to put up barricades and make arrangements for awnings/shades to ensure that people are not exposed to sunlight.
GHMC officials were asked to ensure cleaning, leveling, watering, maintenance and sanitary conditions at the venue and arranging for decorative flags.
The Chief Secretary also directed the Cultural Department to ensure the participation of artists as per the carnival atmosphere.
The Energy Department was asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply by keeping a standby team at the venue.All departments were asked to work in coordination and organize the function in a grand manner.
