A 50-year-old man died in an elephant attack in Srimangala Wildlife Range, Kodagu (Karnataka) on Monday. The officers provided this information.
The incident was reported to have taken place at Biruga in Ponnampet taluk around 6.30 am.
A senior forest official said, "We received information that one person died after being attacked by an elephant in Srimangala Wildlife Area of Madikeri Wildlife Division here. Our officials are at the spot and inspecting the incident."
Following the incident, fear has spread among local residents and they have expressed displeasure over the increasing elephant menace.
