Nagpur: An 80-year-old couple allegedly committed suicide at their daughter's house in Nagpur's Chandan Nagar area, a police officer said on Saturday.
The Imambara police station official identified the deceased as Shriram Bapurao Katre (85) and his wife Shakuntala Katre, 82, who were residents of Amravati.
"They were living in their daughter's house for the last two-three months. On Friday evening, the family had gone out for a birthday party. When they returned at 11 pm, they found Sriram's body lying near the ceiling fan in the kitchen. Found hanged." Shakuntala said, "Hanged in the bedroom."
He said that a case of accidental death has been registered and further investigation into the incident is underway.
