New Delhi: The Election Commission on Tuesday issued a show cause notice to Congress leader Randy Surjewala for his alleged indecent comments against actor-turned-politician and BJP MP Hema Malini.
The Election Commission also sought a response from Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge about the steps taken by its leaders to ensure strict compliance with the advisory regarding maintaining the honor and dignity of women during public debates.
Both have been asked to submit their respective answers to the Election Commission. Surjewala has been asked to reply by April 11 evening, while Kharge has been given time till the next evening.
Surjewala has said that the undated video was edited and distorted and he never intended to insult or hurt the BJP MP.
