Mumbai, The Election Commission of India on Wednesday announced that the biennial elections for four seats of the Maharashtra Legislative Council will be held on June 10.

An official release here said that counting of votes will take place on June 13.

The six-year tenure of the current Members of the Legislative Council (MLC) will end on July 7.



Of the seats going to election, the Mumbai Teachers and Mumbai Graduate constituencies are currently represented by Kapil Patil (Lok Bharati) and Villa Potnis (Shiv Sena (UBT)).

The Konkan division graduate constituency is represented by BJP's Niranja Davkhare, while the Nashik division teacher constituency is represented by Kishore Darade.

The last date for filing nomination is May 22. The statement said that scrutiny of nomination forms will take place on May 24, while the last date for withdrawal of nominations is May 27.
