Between 2019 and 2024, the adoption of e-office gained significant momentum in the central secretariat with 37 lakh files i.e. 94 per cent of files were handled as e-files and 95 per cent of receipts were handled like electronic receipts, he said. .

"In the backdrop of successful implementation of e-office platform in the central secretariat, the government has decided that e-office will be implemented in all attached and subordinate offices and autonomous bodies of the Government of India as part of the 100 programme. days of DARPG. government agenda," says the statement issued by the Ministry of Personnel.

As many as 133 subordinate offices and attached autonomous bodies were identified for implementation after inter-ministerial consultations.

The DARPG had issued the guidelines for the adoption of the electronic headquarters in attached, subordinate offices and autonomous organizations on June 24, 2024.

The onboarding roadmap and technical modalities were discussed at an inter-ministerial meeting chaired by DARPG Secretary V Srinivas and attended by officials of all ministries/departments and senior officials of 133 subordinate offices and attached autonomous bodies, according to the release.

The National Informatics Center (NIC) team, led by Rachna Srivastava, deputy director general of NIC, presented the procedural technicalities for implementation of the e-office, she said.

It was decided that all ministries/departments will coordinate with their attached and subordinate offices and the autonomous bodies will appoint nodal officers, establish data centers and submit applications to the NIC regarding the number of users/licenses for incorporation of e-office in a time-bound manner. as part of the government's 100-day agenda, according to the statement.
