Thiruvananthapuram Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), the youth wing of the ruling CPI(M) in Kerala, on Tuesday organized a march towards the Accountant General (AG) office here in protest against irregularities in NEET entry . exam.

Holding placards reading "NEET is not very orderly" and "stop playing with students' lives", the protesters marched towards the AG's office, where DYFI leaders blamed the Narendra Modi government for the recent problems related to the medical entry test carried out. by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

They also demanded the resignation of the Union Education Minister and an inquiry into the irregularities.

The protesters raised these demands in front of barricades erected by the police to prevent them from approaching the attorney general's office.

DYFI state president V Vaseef, addressing him in front of the attorney general's office, alleged that irregularities in the NEET exam amount to cheating of students who worked hard to clear it.

He also alleged that there was large-scale corruption in the conduct of the entrance examination.

"The central government should be willing to investigate it," Vaseef demanded.

He warned of more protest marches across the country until the Center investigates the irregularities in the conduct of the entrance test.

Last week, the Kerala assembly unanimously passed a resolution condemning irregularities in the NEET and NET entrance exams conducted by the NTA.

The assembly passed a substantive resolution demanding that the Center take urgent steps to address the grievances of the affected candidates and conduct a thorough investigation into the irregularities in the conduct of entrance examinations.

Both the ruling LDF and the opposition Congress-led UDF also agreed that the recently reported irregularities in the NEET-UG and UGC-NET exams call into question the credibility of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and its competence to take such entrance tests.
