According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Labor and Employment, around 18,490 new establishments have also been brought under the social security ambit of the ESI scheme in April, thereby ensuring social security for more workers.

"Through the data, it is noteworthy that more jobs have been created for the youth of the country as out of the total 16.47 lakh employees added during the month, 7.84 lakh employees, about 47.60 per cent of the total registrations, are in this age group. 25 Group up to year,” the ministry statement states.

Gender-wise analysis of the payroll data shows that the net enrollment of women members stood at 3.38 lakh in April.

Apart from this, a total of 53 transgender employees have also registered under the ESI scheme during the month.

The ministry statement also said that the payroll data was temporary as data generation is an ongoing exercise.
