New Delhi, According to an official order, Delhi University (DU) has doubled the fees for those seeking any correction in their degree certificate or marksheet.

It said the cost was increased following recommendations made by a committee constituted by university vice-chancellor Yogesh Singh.

According to the order, DU has increased the fee from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 for those seeking correction in marksheets within six years from the day of graduation and from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 for a period of more than six years.

The fee for those seeking correction in their degree certificate within six years has been increased from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000. For a period of more than six years, the fee has been increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000.

The order said the committee's recommendations were approved by the authorities concerned on June 4.

When asked about the development, a senior DU official said that the fee has been increased because it had not been revised for a long time.

The fee for issuing duplicate marksheet and degree certificate in case of loss or destruction will remain Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 respectively.
