Los Angeles [US], Doug Ingle, the original lead singer of the rock band Ero Butterfly, has died. He was 78, according to Deadline Ingle's son Doug Ingle Jr. shared the news of his father's death on social media. He wrote in a post on Facebook, "It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that I have to announce the passing of my Fat Doug Ingle. Dad passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on [Friday] evening [May 24]. " He added, "Thank you, Dad, for being a father, teacher, and friend. I will cherish these fond memories for the rest of my days as I move forward on this journey of life." Ingle was the last surviving member of the original lineup of Iron Butterfly. , which was formed in San Diego, California in 1966. The original band's lineup included Ingle on drums, Greg Willis on bass, and Danny Weiss on guitar. and now consists of Ingle, Ron Bushey, and Eric Brann. The band is best known for their 1968 song "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida", which was co-written by Ingle and Ingle then co-wrote the band's other hits such as "Soul Experience, In the Time of Our Lives," and "Easy Rider."
