State party president K. Sudhakaran, who retained his Kannur seat by a huge margin, said the impact of this victory should not be lost on party workers as a lot of work still needs to be done.

He said that there are going to be more election battles ahead and this victory should not be taken lightly and there is a need to further strengthen it. He said that every party worker, irrespective of position, will have to work for greater success.

Congress Organization General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, who won from Alappuzha seat, presided over the meeting.

The meeting also decided to go for local body elections by 2025 and create five clusters with three districts in each cluster. Each cluster will be led by a team of senior party leaders and their job is to work at the grassroots level to reinvigorate the party, as this will be the key to success in the local body elections.

It was also emphasized that all the leaders will have to work at the grassroots level in their areas.

Now all eyes are on the improvement of the party's organizational position at all levels, although there will be no change at the top post as Sudhakaran will continue.
