His message to the newly elected MPs came in light of various reports in the media speculating about the allocation of departments and portfolios to the MPs.

“People may approach you and claim that you have been allotted a cabinet berth. With today's advanced technology, documents with my digital signature can also be issued. But, you should not believe them. This exercise is futile,” he told MPs.

Addressing all elected MPs, experienced and first-time MPs at the NDA meeting, Narendra Modi cautioned them against falling prey to rumors and asked them to double-check all information.

“The country cannot run on the basis of breaking news,” he said bluntly and also took a dig at the opposition, claiming that the opposition has a double PhD in spreading fake news.

He also gave a new slogan for the NDA alliance and said that for him NDA would mean 'New India, Developed India and Aspirational India'.

The newly elected Prime Minister further said that he is available round the clock and appealed to all the stakeholders to work hard collectively for nation building.

"Developed India is our vision and we have a roadmap for it," he said, vowing to work tirelessly to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of more than a billion countrymen.
