New Delhi [India]: Doctors have reattached a factory worker's amputated hand after a 10-hour complex plastic surgery at a private hospital in Delhi. The patient was identified as Ashok, who worked as a daily wage laborer in a factory, who faced a tragic incident. When his right hand was completely separated due to an accident, doctors at a private hospital in Delhi performed plastic surgery to restore his separated hand. According to Dr. Nikhil Jhunjhunwala of the plastic surgery department of Sir Gangara Hospital, "The broken bones, tendons, nerves were reattached." The arteries and veins that were cut during the accident were a complex surgery,'' read a statement issued by the hospital. The statement further said that the success of this amazing procedure was further boosted by the guidance and knowledge of Dr. Mahesh Mangal, the respected Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. The “Surgical Team” worked tirelessly, their knowledge and unwavering commitment powering their work. To restore Ashoka's hand and, consequently, his hopes of some kind of regularity, there was an urgent need to act quickly," Ashoka came out of the operation theater the same day after a ten-hour surgery and his hand was fine. The hospital statement said, "On the morning of April 8, 2024, there was a significant moment when Ashok walked out of the operating room with his hand healed, the procedure was quite successful."
