New Delhi [India], a start-up founded by a woman entrepreneur, Dr. Shivani Verma, has successfully developed an AI tool “Divine Vision” that integrates facial recognition with immutable physical parameters like gait and skeleton.

'Dare to Dream Innovation Contest 2.0' is a pan-India theme-based competition organized by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO).

The innovative solution developed by Shivani Verma marks a significant advancement in biometric authentication technology, providing increased accuracy and reliability in identifying individuals.

'Divine Vision' combines facial recognition with gait analysis to create a robust and multidimensional authentication system. This dual approach increases identification accuracy, reduces the risk of false positives or identity fraud and has versatile applications across a variety of sectors, including defense, law enforcement, corporate and public infrastructure.

The AI tool has been developed under the technical guidance and advice of the Bangalore-based DRDO laboratory, Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIR).

Dr. Sameer V. Kamat, Secretary, Department of Defense Research and Development and Chairman, DRDO, congratulated the startup as well as Team DRDO on this achievement. He said that the development of 'Divya Drishti' under Technology Development Fund (TDF) is a successful effort of DRDO in promoting startups in defense and aerospace industries to achieve the vision of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'.

AI stands for 'Artificial Intelligence', which basically means the imitation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computers.
