Speaking at a public event in Budhni assembly constituency on Saturday, Karthikeya Chouhan lauded his father's victory from Vidisha by over eight lakh votes in the Lok Sabha elections, following which the former chief minister was appointed agriculture minister in the Modi 3.0 cabinet.

“I have just returned from Delhi. Earlier also our leader (Chouhan) was popular as the Chief Minister. But it seems that he has become even more popular now. Kartikeya Chauhan said, "Today the whole of Delhi also bows before him."

Former state minister Jaivardhan Singh on Monday termed Kartikeya Chauhan's remarks as "arrogance" of success.

Addressing Congress workers in Budhni, Jaivardhan Singh said, "Shivraj Singh Chouhan's son said that Delhi bows before his father. If a family talks like this, it means they have become arrogant." And those who show arrogance also fall.”

Notably, senior BJP leader and four-time former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who won six elections from the Budhni Assembly seat, resigned from the post of MLA after assuming the post of Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister.

Budhni is now ready for by-elections. There is a lot of speculation about who BJP will choose as its candidate. Karthikeya, who managed his father's campaign in Budhni in November last year, is a name doing the rounds in political circles in the state.
