Los Angeles, Actors Diane Kruger and Joe Joyner will star in streamer Paramount+'s upcoming psychological thriller series "Little Disasters."

Based on Sarah Vaughn's 2020 novel of the same name, the show will "explore female friendship and motherhood through the lens of four women who have little in common other than their due dates".

According to Variety, Kruger will play Jess, while Joyner will play Dr. Liz.

"When Jess takes her daughter to the hospital with a head injury she can't explain, her close friend and on-duty A&E doctor Liz must make the difficult decision about whether to save her long-term Whether to call S.'s friend for social services or not."

The official logline reads, "This decision sets in motion a chain of events that shows how one moment can tear apart and nearly destroy entire families and friendships."

Shelley Cohn ("Bridgerton") stars as corporate lawyer Charlotte and Emily Taaffe ("The Rising") stars as free-spirited Mel.

Shooting of "Little Disasters" is underway. The series will also include JJ Field as Ed, who is rich but very bigoted, Ben Bailey Smith as Liz's husband Nick and Stephen Campbell Moore, who plays Rob, Mel's husband.

Directed by Eva Sigurdardottir, the series is produced by Roughcut Television in association with Fremantle.

Previously, Vaughn's 2018 book "Anatomy of a Scandal" was adapted into a series by Netflix, starring Sienna Miller, Rupert Friend and Naomi Scott as Olivia Litton.
