Antalya (Turkey), Indian archers Dheeraj Bommadevara and Ankita Bhakta moved closer to a medal by entering the individual semi-finals at the World Cup Stage 3 here on Friday, while the mixed team is in search of a bronze medal.

Dheeraj defeated Mohammad Sagor Islam of Bangladesh 6-0, Riau Salsabilla of Indonesia 7-1, Santiago Arango of Colombia 6-4 and Jonathan Vetter of Germany 7-3.

In the last four matches, he will face Olympic and World gold medalist Kim Woojin of Korea.

His teammates Praveen Jadhav and Tarundeep Rai were eliminated in the first round itself.

Ankita defeated Mobina Fallah of Iran 6-4, Veronika Marchenko of Ukraine 7-1, Li Jiaman of China 6-5 (9-8) and Jeon Hunyong of Korea 6-4.

Ankita will face China's top-ranked Yang Xiaoli in the semi-finals.

However, there was disappointment for Deepika Kumari who crashed out of the third round after losing 5-6 (8-10) to Yang in the shoot-off.

Bhajan Kaur was eliminated in the second round.

The Indian recurve mixed team of Bhajan and Dheeraj started by defeating Great Britain 5-1 and Brazil 5-1.

But they lost to South Korea 3-5 in the semi-finals. India will face Mexico in the bronze medal match on Sunday.

In the compound mixed team event, the No. 1 Indian pair of Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Priyansh beat Estonia 158-156, but lost to Italy 156-154 in the quarters.
