Mumbai: Shikhar Dhawan believes the game of cricket has changed a lot this year, but he doesn't think the upcoming T20 World Cup will result in shocking scores like the IPL in the absence of 'impact player' options during the showpiece.

The impact player rule, which allows teams to play an extra batsman or a bowler, I believe has increased the number of high scores being recorded in this IPL, with eight totals over 250. times have been recorded.

The plight of the bowlers has reignited the debate on ball-to-ball balance as the wickets and conditions in the IPL generally favor the batsmen.

Dhawan said, “I feel like the game has changed this year, which is why the score of 25 is being set. The mentality has definitely changed.,

"But when you go to the World Cup, which does not have the impact player rule, its impact will definitely be seen. It is a differentiator and how we adjust to the conditions will matter the most.

"The mentality has changed after the arrival of the impact player. When the middle batsman knows that batting till No. 8 and 9 is available then he is going to take an aggressive path, that is why so many high scores are being made. " said the aggressive Indian opening batsman, who will be hosting a TV show 'Dhaawa Karenge' on Jio Cinema. He said that India has a strong squad for the T20 World Cup in America and the players are enjoying their game under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.

"All the bases have been covered. The team looks balanced and India has a very good chance (of winning the title)," he said.

Dhawan said, "Rohit is an experienced captain and the boys are very happy and comfortable with him. We have a very good and experienced team with amazing youngsters and we have a very good chance of winning the World Cup.,

Dhawan admitted that Punjab Kings had a disappointing performance in the IPL this year, with the team failing to make the playoffs for the 10th consecutive year.

The experienced left-handed batsman entered the IPL as the captain of Punjab Kings, but was sidelined with a shoulder injury in early April.

Dhawan said that injuries to experienced players can have a huge impact on the team.

“I could play only five matches this year before I got injured. Till then we had two matches.I stayed with the team and did my rehab, which I am still doing. But the injury is serious and I will be out of action.

Dhawan said, "Even the team could not perform well. Whenever experienced players get injured, I make an impact on the team. But the boys gave their all and it was unfortunate that I went our way." Didn't work."
