New Delhi [India], The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Friday issued a show cause notice to Air India for excessive flight delays and failure to take care of passengers, asking Air India to respond within three days or face possible enforcement action. Instructions have been given to cope. "Whereas, it has come to the notice of DGCA that flight AL-179 dated 24.05.202 and flight AL-183 dated 30.05.2024 were excessively delayed and caused inconvenience to passengers due to inadequate cooling in the cabin. Such incidents are likely to be repeated further. "It has come to notice that M/s Air India has caused inconvenience to passengers in violation of various CAR provisions of DGCA." Section 3, Series M, Part LV o "On account of canceled boarding and delayed departure of flights" "due to the facilities provided to the passengers by the airlines repeatedly failing to take proper care of the passengers and comply with the above CARs". Why enforcement action will not be initiated against" "Air India's response should reach this office within 03 days from the date of issue of this notice, failing which, ex-parte action will be taken on the matter," said an official. Said that Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia took strong cognizance of the flight delay and inconvenience caused to the passengers, after which the DGCA issued a show cause notice.
