Ranchi, In a veiled attack on the BJP, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday claimed that the opposition could conspire against him and force him to spend five months in jail, but, the JMM leader said, he knows how to defend himself and work for the party. state.

Soren, who is out on bail in a money laundering case, addressed a program in which appointment letters were given to 1,500 postgraduate professors.

“The way our opposition weaves conspiracies, we, the Jharkhandi tribal people, sometimes get trapped in them. The result was that I had the opportunity to live in prison for five months,” Soren said.

Referring to the proverb “Jako Rakhe Saiyan Maar Sake Na Koi” (No one can harm the person whom God protects), he said: “How much conspiracy will they hatch? We are not afraid of this. “We know how to do our job and fight them.”

Soren had resigned as chief minister before being arrested on January 31 by the ED in connection with a money laundering case linked to an alleged land scam. After spending about five months in prison, he got bail and became CM again on July 4.

While granting him bail, the Jharkhand High Court has held that he is prima facie not guilty of the offense and there is no likelihood of him committing an offense while out on bail.

“They are disturbed after the court's observation. Their nature is such that they will continue to hatch conspiracies,” he said without naming anyone.

Soren said that after his party came to power in December 2019, Covid-19 emerged as a big challenge.

“We face the challenge efficiently. Things began to normalize within two years. But then our opposition started hatching conspiracies to stop us from doing our job in various ways, including using different agencies. We didn’t stop because we had to reach our goal,” Soren said.

Attacking the BJP-led central government, Soren claimed that the unemployment rate is high in the country.

“Airports, ports and railways are being sold. Small-scale industries that were closed during the Covid pandemic still could not be reopened due to the Centre's policies,” he said.

Soren said his government is continuously working to generate employment.

He stated that more than 60,000 youth have obtained employment in various organized and unorganized sectors.
