New Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Monday alleged that the water crisis in Delhi has been created by the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Addressing a press conference, Singh accused the saffron party of hatching a conspiracy against the residents of the national capital.

There has been no immediate reaction from BJP on the allegations.

“We believe, ‘There is no act of greater virtue than giving water to the thirsty’, and there is no greater sin than withholding water.

"I am saying that there is a BJP sponsored water crisis. The BJP does not want water for the people of Delhi and is hatching all conspiracies to ensure it," Singh alleged.

He said that Delhi gets water from Haryana and when the BJP ruled state does not provide water as per requirement, there is a shortage.

"We are not getting water as per our demand. When we request the Haryana government, they do not listen. We request the LG, but he does not do the necessary work," he claimed.

Many areas of the national capital have been facing water crisis for weeks, with little or no supply and the water shortage being met by private water tankers.
