New Delhi: Delhi Water Minister Atishi was admitted to hospital early Tuesday after her health deteriorated due to her indefinite fast demanding water amid the ongoing crisis in the national capital, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party said here.

A post on 'X' said the minister has been admitted to the emergency ICU of Lok Nayak Hospital.

"Water Minister Atishi's health has deteriorated. His blood sugar level dropped to 43 at midnight and 36 at 3 am, following which doctors at LNJP Hospital advised him to be immediately admitted to the hospital." The party said.

It said, "He has not eaten anything for the last five days and is on an indefinite hunger strike demanding the Haryana government to release Delhi's share of water. He has been admitted to the emergency ICU of LNJP. We are hopeful of his immediate recovery." Praying for your recovery.”

Atishi started his hunger strike on 21 June.
