According to Delhi Police, Samaypur Badli Police Station received a call about the drowning of a 12-year-old boy near Siraspur underpass at 2:25 pm. On reaching the spot, it was seen that the underpass near the metro was flooded with nearly 2.5 to 3 feet of water.

"Firefighters carried out a search operation and recovered the bodies of two children. At first glance, it appears to be a suspicious case of drowning while the children were taking bath," police said.

Earlier on Friday, two children who had left their homes to play in rainwater drowned after falling into a deep rainwater ditch in Delhi's New Usmanpur area, police said.

The deceased were aged 8 and 10 and were residents of Som Bazaar, Gamri, in New Usmanpur area.
