New Delhi: Delhi recorded the maximum number of days with 'good to moderate' air quality in April since 2018, except in 2020 when pollution levels came down significantly due to the strict lockdown due to the Covid pandemic.

According to the Centre's Air Quality Management Commission, only seven days in April this year saw the air quality index (AQI) exceed 200 in Delhi. There were 13 such days in the month in 2023; 30 in 2022; 12 in 2021; 18 i 2019; And 22 in 2018.

Delhi's average AQI in April 2024 was 182, the second lowest in the last seven years. In 2023 it was 180; 255 in 2022; 202 in 2021; 110 in 2020; 211 in 2019 and 222 in 2018.

CAQM said a significant reduction in daily average PM2.5 and PM1 concentrations has been recorded in the city compared to the same period in previous years.
