New Delhi [India], Delhi Traffic Police on Monday issued a new advisory ahead of the much-awaited vote counting on Tuesday, listing major roads to be closed from 5 am onwards to ensure smooth movement of vehicles. Traffic restrictions and changes will begin.

According to the advisory, "Traffic movement on the road section/carriageway from Gagan Cinema T-Point to Nand Nagari Flyover on Wazirabad Road (Mangal Pandey Road), Delhi, will be restricted from 5:00 am."

"Wazirabad Road (Mangal Pandey Road) will be closed for general traffic from 5:00 am onwards and traffic will be diverted from Gagan Cinema T-Point. General public/passengers will also be asked to use the road below from 5:00 am onwards. It is advised to avoid further,” the advisory further said.

In view of the counting of votes at Commonwealth Games Village, Akshardham, there will be some traffic restrictions and changes in the area."Commuters coming towards NH-24 from Sarai Kale Khan/MGM will go straight towards Akshardham flyover and turn left to reach Pusta Road/ITO/Vikas Marg to reach their destination. Towards ITO/Pusta Road Passengers coming from Delhi will come up to Akshardham flyover in front of Akshardham temple and they will take a U-turn after crossing Akshardham flyover and move onto NH-24 to reach their destination towards Delhi, Delhi Traffic Police said in a post on Twitter. The post further reads, "Commuters are requested to cooperate by avoiding/bypassing the above mentioned roads. They are also requested to make maximum use of public transport to ensure safe travel."

Delhi Traffic Police said, “We appreciate your understanding and your cooperation to reduce traffic congestion during the above mentioned period."Those heading towards ISBT/Railway Stations/Airports are advised to plan their journey carefully with adequate time."

The general public and motorists are advised to exercise patience, follow traffic rules and road discipline and follow the instructions of traffic personnel deployed at all intersections.

Additionally, special traffic arrangements will be in effect on August Kranti Marg and Siri Fort Road.

According to Delhi, "General public is advised to avoid August Kranti Marg and Siri Fort Road from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm on Tuesday and take alternative routes i.e. Ring Road, Aurobindo Marg, Josip Broz Tito Marg etc. and Plan your journey accordingly.” Traffic police.Commuters have been requested to cooperate by avoiding/bypassing the above mentioned roads.
