New Delhi, Delhi Police has arrested people who allegedly duped a person of Rs 50,000 by posing as an RT officer in the name of providing a duplicate NOC for his vehicle. Officials gave this information on Wednesday.

He said that the arrested accused have been identified as Ajay Mishra and Sarvesh Kuma Sharma.

According to the police, a man reported at the South Cyber ​​police station that on April 11, he sent a request to the RTO, Sarai Kale Khan, requesting to issue a duplicate NOC of his vehicle.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan said, “Then on April 15, they received a call from an unknown person who identified himself as a clerk working at the RTO in Janakpuri and said he could help them.,

The officer further said that the accused duped her of Rs 7,500 as NOC cancellation fee. After some time, the complainant received a call from another person who claimed to be an RTO inspector and defrauded the complainant of Rs 43,300 on the pretext of issuing a duplicate NOC.

"After taking the money, none of them responded to the complainant's call. An FIR was registered and further investigation was initiated," the DCP said.

Police said they checked the bank account of the accused.The police team discovered that the numbers used by the fraudsters were being used by an identified person in Lucknow.

"A raid was conducted in Lucknow and Ajay Mishra was arrested along with Sarvas Kumar Sharma. During interrogation, both the accused revealed that they were unemployed. They said that they discussed it with co-accused Sumit Mehra, who Sharma's friends and brother-Mishra's in-laws hatched a plan to dupe innocent people by posing as RTO agents,” the DCP said.

He said he created a profile on a website in the name of RTO office to dupe people.Efforts are being made to nab Mishra.
