New Delhi: Delhi Police has arrested a 37-year-old woman from Bihar for selling a stolen high-end sports utility vehicle (SUV), police said on Tuesday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Apoorva said the accused, identified as Lovely Singh, a resident of Patliputra in Bihar, was caught on April 3 after an operation was launched following the arrest of her husband Govind with a stolen Maruti Brezza last year. I went. Gupta said.

"On interrogation, Govind revealed that his wife Lovely had received several stolen luxury vehicles from Delhi and had sold or supplied them to others in Bihar and Jharkhand," the DCP said.

Several police teams were formed to arrest Singh, but she kept dodging them by changing her place of residence, the DCP said. To avoid suspicion, she also lived in a famous society.

"A non-bailable warrant was issued against him and he was declared a proclaimed offender by the court on December 20, 2023," the DC said. On April 3, Lovely was arrested from Patliputra area and sent to his transit remand. was received."

During interrogation, Lovely told police that after completing his graduation, he started with an insurance company where he met people who were engaged in buying and selling of stolen vehicles, the DCP said.

"She and her husband, Govind, started getting involved in the sale and purchase of stolen vehicles. She revealed that she was arrested in Ranchi, Jharkhand in a case of dealing in stolen vehicles and robbery in 2021," he said.

They said he also established links with auto lifters and other recipients of stolen luxury cars who were involved in the buying and selling of such vehicles.
