In New Delhi, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Monday launched the 'Public Amusement Portal', which will facilitate licensing for auditoriums, amusement parks, arcades, musicals, theater performances, Ramlila and circuses, a statement said.

According to the statement, the portal will significantly facilitate entrepreneurs in conducting business and activities related to fun, shows and entertainment.

Speaking at the event held at the NDMC Convention Centre, Saxena said that this digital transformation marks a major step forward in increasing the 'ease of doing business', as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He shared the transformative strides made in streamlining, demystifying and relaxing regulatory and licensing procedures and processes over the past two years.

In this sense, the LG listed the launch of a unified portal for food and accommodation establishments, improved hours for bars and restaurants, outdoor dining and permission for establishments to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, among others.

It said key features of the unified portal include: simplified application procedures accessible from anywhere through an online platform, simultaneous submission to all interested agencies for efficient processing, automated updates and notifications to applicants about the status of their application, easy correction of deficiencies in real time within the portal and a transparent and simplified approval process that ensures that legal authorizations are obtained promptly.

LG said, "Embracing technology, we have launched this Unified Portal for Entertainment Activities, which will review, simplify and unify the licensing process for venues including amusement parks, auditoriums and video game arcades in the national capital."

He further said that the licensing unit of Delhi Police, in collaboration with the Delhi Municipal Corporation and the National Informatics Center (NIC), has developed the Unified Portal for Entertainment Activities, a transformative platform aimed at improving the efficiency of licensing processes across Delhi.

This initiative builds on the success of the modified unified portal for licensing food and accommodation establishments, previously launched by LG in 2023, to now cover performances in licensed and unlicensed venues, amusement parks, auditoriums and video game arcades .

"The unified portal streamlines the application process, significantly reduces paperwork and simplifies submission requirements. By integrating various regulatory authorities such as municipal bodies, Delhi Fire Service and Delhi Police on a single platform, the portal ensures seamless coordination and real-time processing of requests," he added.
