New Delhi: A court here on Monday accepted the Delhi Police's plea seeking three-day custodial interrogation of the owner and on-duty doctor of the private hospital where seven newborns died in a fire. Infants died and five were injured.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vidhi Gupta Anand sent hospital owner Dr Naveen Khichi and Dr Akash – who were on duty when the fire broke out late on Saturday night – to three days' police custody.

Detailed orders are awaited in the matter. Police arrested both the doctors on Sunday.
